We are looking for new work that is specific to the special context and location of A B&B in Blackpool – The UK home of popular culture.

A B&B Associate Artist Scheme.

The scheme provides important support for artists living or working in the locale of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre to develop ideas through in depth research. The scheme offers small bursaries to enable artists to connect their ideas with new peers further afield and learn how to turn them into a reality at A B&B. Selected artists will be able to engage with others creating work to develop the hotel, engage with the project throughout its building and construction phases and add to A B&B’s ongoing programme and events longer term.

The Associate Artist Scheme is a rolling application process.

A B&B Plinth

We are seeking to create an external plinth that serves two purposes:

  • Adds vital ‘curb appeal’ to A B&B’s façade which is passed by millions of people each year
  • Provides a significant platform for the display and celebration of contemporary art and spectacle

This prominent platform for work will act as a catalyst for cultural conversation on this much loved stretch of coastline.

If you are an experienced artist, curator, producer or commissioner of contemporary work that is of scale, suitable for temporary outdoor display, then we would like to hear from you as part of developing this ongoing  programme.

Please contact garth@abandb.co.uk

A B&B Collection

As part of our aim to showcase the best art from established and emerging artists, we are developing a new collection. This collection will feature regional, as well as national and international artists’ work. All collection pieces will be available for our guests to self-curate their room.

The purpose of this is to engage guests with an up close and personal experience of art and increase their understanding of contemporary work being produced in a variety of formats from digital to sculptural.

Further information on how you can contribute to the Collection will be announced in November 2017.
